I Feel Anxious / All I Want is Peace

John 14:27

Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.

The peace that the world offers looks very different than our Father's peace. Only the Lord's peace is sufficient enough to rely on.

Philippians 4:6-7

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Jesus Christ.

We can rest in the promise that Jesus will protect our hearts and minds. We don't have to fight our internal battles alone; we have a King and Father who is always fighting for us.

Philippians 4:8

Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is comendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.

Matthew 6:34

Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

You don't have to worry about tomorrow because the one who created the universe holds your life in the palm of his hands. You are protected.

Psalm 91:1-2 & 4

He would dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, "He is my refuge and my fortress; my God in Him I will trust."

He shall cover you with His feathers and under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler.

Psalm 4:8

I will lie down in peace and sleep; for You alone oh Lord make me dwell in safety.

Proverbs 3:24-26

When you lie down, you will not be afraid; yes when you lie down your sleep will be sweet. Do not be afraid of sudden terror, nor of trouble from the wicked when it comes; For the Lord will be your confidence, and keep your foot from being caught.

Psalm 23:1-3

The Lord is my shepard; I shall not want. He makes me lie down is green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake.

2 Timothy 1:7

For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self control.

Psalm 94:19

When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought me joy.

Romans 12:2

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is - His good pleasing and perfect will.
